If Gout occurs randomly it is called an "acute" attack but when it becomes persistent, it is termed as "chronic" gout. Uric acid migrates through blood to different joints in the body and crystallizes resulting in a gout attack.
Uric acid is formed when our body cells and certain foods in the body break down. Though generally our body is able to excrete the uric acid but when it fails to do so the uric acid starts forming crystals and affects soft tissue from the joints. In order to prevent yourself from Gout, drink a lot of water, atleast eight glasses of water each day. Water helps in proper functioning of kidneys and helps to excrete uric acid out of the body. Eating healthy food, green vegetables, fruits, juices is very important in preventing this disease. Avoid street food, junk food and fast food that causes formation of extra uric acid. Kidney finds it very hard to flush this excess uric acid.
Obesity and overweight is a major reason behind this disease and hence people must carry out Yoga or any other exercises to control their body weight. Exercise also helps to excrete waste material through sweat.
People should avoid drinking alcohol. Too much of alcohol leads to the formation of purines in the kidney, which later breaks down to uric acid.
